noun 1.(Chimera) (in Greek Mythology) a fire-breathing female monster with a lion’s head, a goat’s body, and a serpent’s tail. • any mythical animal with parts taken from various animals. 2. a thing that is hoped or wished for but in fact is illusory or impossible to achieve. 3. Biology an organism containing a mixture of genetically difference tissues, formed by processes such as fusion or early embryos, grafting, or mutation. Influenced by her extensive travels through India and Africa, Lee Essex Doyle’s exquisite sense of color and rhythm present a vision. Her mastery of color brings to mind the exquisite sunlit interiors and gardens of Bonnard. She paints interiors and landscapes, studying the details, layering patterns, textures and colors. These paintings are not just evidence of a mature artist in full control of her craft, but a joyful experience as well.
"A finished painting is the act of fixing in time an impression of millions of feelings, thoughts, images, and longing and like all memories there are so many versions that are true.” — Lee Essex Doyle |
